Mecanum Wheel is a kind of omnidirectional wheel that has been studied earlier and is the most typical one. There are many drum-shaped rollers distributed on the circumference of the wheel body. The outer contours of these rollers coincide with the theoretical circumference of the wheel, which ensures the continuity of the contact between the wheel and the ground. The rollers can rotate freely, and the axis of the rollers is usually 45° with the axis of the wheel. Each Mecanum wheel has three degrees of freedom of motion. The first is that the wheel rotates around its own axis driven by the motor, the second is that the roller rotates around its own axis driven by friction, and the third is that the wheel rotates around the contact point between the wheel and the ground. When the motor drives the wheel to rotate, the wheel moves in a normal way in a direction perpendicular to the drive shaft, and the rollers on the periphery of the wheel rotate freely along their respective axes. The Mecanum wheel has a compact structure and flexible movement. The combination of three or more Mecanum wheels can synthesize torque in any direction through the coordination of the speed and steering between each wheel, thereby driving the platform to move in any direction and realizing omnidirectional movement in the plane.
A side push cylinder is a device that can move an object sideways, usually controlled by air pressure. Generally suitable for pallet conveying, the product is placed on the pallet, and the chain conveyor or synchronous belt conveyor is integrated into the roller gap of the roller conveyor. When the pallet with the goods runs to the specified position, the chain or synchronous belt conveyor is lifted by the cylinder and runs in the vertical direction to achieve the purpose of steering.
